      For some Middletown residents, Ken Seeley's face might be familiar because he once helped customers at ShopRite on Dolson Avenue and graduated in 1980 from Middletown High School.

      Unfortunately, some also remember him as a "stoner" who partied in the high school shop classroom, picking up his first drink at age 15 and smoking his first joint at 16. Later, he became a self-described "garbage head" doing all kinds of drugs.

      Now, the 46-year-old is celebrating his 20th year (July 16) since his own intervention.

      Four years ago, he began talking people off the edge of destruction on A&E's "Intervention," and it's been almost eight years since he started Intervention 911 (www.intervention911.com), helping people off-camera on a daily basis.

      Seeley also co-wrote his first book about denial, "Face It and Fix It."
